Located in Downtown Los Angeles is a unique place, to say the least. In my years of smoking cigars, I have never come across a shop that is as clearly divided in it’s purpose as this one.
A long, narrow layout with the humidor built half-way down the length of the shop serves one significant purpose; the large, opposite wall is covered with original art from many different types of artists. That’s right- it’s a cigar shop/art gallery.
The humidor is compact, but bursting with variety, with fair prices, and the crowd can be as diverse as the layout. Located between the two LA Times buildings, Second Street draws attorneys, judges, columnists, professionals, artists and bohemians.
I was there one evening when they were actually having an art exhibit. I met a few people with wonderfully ornate hairstyles, and discovered that the humidor was locked and smoking inside wasn’t allowed during the exhibit. A good place to go, but make sure you can smoke there.
